A couple visited our showroom to see Karndean Design Flooring products having heard some very good comments from their friends. They were initially interested in Karndean due to the fact is it a pet friendly floor covering, working as a barrier against scuff marks, stains and fine scratches without sacrificing on appearance. During our consultation we discussed with them in depth the look they wanted to achieve with their new flooring and what colours they felt would compliment their home. It became apparent early on they liked the wood effect products over the stone effect products available. We presented a variety of wood effect planks for them to consider. They were having difficulty choosing between a couple of colours and took home some samples to see them against there decor. They next day they came back to our showroom having made a definitive choice. They had chosen KP91 Victorian Oak from the Knight Tile range. After they had chosen which product they liked most, we began to discuss the various fitting options. We showed them a section of flooring within our showroom where we have Karndean laid on a 45 degree angle, they very much like the different look this created in comparison to having the planks laid straight and wanted this method of fitting to be used for their installation. They also opted to have a border fitted around the perimeter of each area. Since our customers were rather keen to create a statement with their new floor covering, we mentioned the possibility of having a design feature installed. We presented to them the seven standard design features available and they felt the Cartwheel design feature would achieve the look they were working towards with the rest of their home. They asked for the design feature to be made in RP41 Australian Walnut from the Da Vinci range, which was the product they were torn between before choosing the Victorian Oak. Soon after the definite choices of the colours and installation methods, we attended a survey of the property where we took exact measures of the areas and checked the subfloor to ensure it was in a good enough condition to receive the Karndean floor covering without any additional subfloor preparation works. The subfloor was in pretty good and dry therefore only a 3mm coat of latex smoothing compound was required in order to achieve the desired finish. We provided our quotation which our customers were happy to go ahead with and the works were scheduled in at our next available opportunity.
