Holiday Resort Unity

AA Flooring were approached by a local holiday resort to assist them in refurbishing their bar and restaurant area. They had a specific theme "seaside" and wanted us to put forward some ideas to replicate a pier with sea and a beach.

The Holiday Resort Unity is a large pleasure complex in Brean, Somerset. The area for refurbishment is used as a bar, eatery and function room. As one of the largest holiday resorts in the area they experience a large foot fall and so therefore products recommended needed to be easy to maintain and carry a guarentee with regard to durability and safety. At the same time we wanted to provide as close to our clients remit as possible. After much discussion and presentation of products we agreed on the following; the sea was recreated using Interface Net Effects carpet tile - when laid gives the effect of waves in the sea. The seaside was depicted with Karndean Michael Angelo M52 Pebbles and the pier using Karndean Van Gogh Distressed Oak. The products were fitted merging three main areas using the most suitable transition between each product. All areas completed after considerable subfloor works undertaken. As with all works the subfloor left a little to be desired and several coats of latex were applied prior to the products. The end result was as the client had hoped for and with final decoration the whole room is indeed the Seaside!

I happened to be working from home yesterday and I was so impressed by the way they quietly got on with the task. They worked quickly and acted in a professional manner, Ellis is a great ambassador for the business, you must be very proud of him.

I apologised to Ellis that our kitchen fitter had overran so the house wasn’t in a great state, with stuff everywhere and he was very understanding and worked around him.

Today should be much easier as we’ve cleared the entire area and banned the kitchen fitter for the morning!
